The Ford Super Duty line of trucks comes equipped with a new power-train designed to bring you the toughest, hardest-working truck on the market. This truck is also designed to give you the reliability and fuel efficiency you won’t find in other trucks of its class. The Ford Super Duty is made up of three different models and each one offers something a little different to fit many different trucking needs.
The 2011 Ford F-250 is available in four trim levels; the basic XL, the XLT, Lariat and King Ranch; each additional trim adds a little extra to this already powerful truck. The F-250 comes standard with a 6.2-liter SOCH two-valve Flex Fuel V8 engine and TorqShift heavy-duty six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission on all trims. The transmission has strong gears to take on extra torque with fewer RPMs. The TorqShift feature of the transmission allows it to withstand high heat so it can be pushed to the extremes.
A 6-liter V8 Turbo Diesel engine is available as on option on the F-250. All F-250s also come standard with Trailer Sway Control which uses selective wheel braking and reduced engine power to aid in keeping the trailer behind the truck through high winds, turns and slick roads. Standard on the XLT, Lariat and King Ranch models is integrated trailer brake control. This system works with the anti-lock brake system and trailer sway control for seamless breaking no matter how heavy the load. This is an available option on the XL model. All F-250 models come with the option of either a six foot or eight foot bed.
An option all trim levels is roof clearance lights, a tailgate step and Tough Bed spray in liner. These options make the F-250 that much better. The Lariat and King Ranch models come with dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control air conditioning while the XL and XLT come standard with manual temperature control. A Rear View Camera is available as an option on the XLT, Lariat and King Ranch models.
Sync voice control system, a built-in computer with Internet access, power-telescoping sideview mirrors and a couple of themed packages.
Standard 5.4-liter V8
7.3-liter PowerStroke turbodiesel V8
For those who need a little more than the F-250 can offer the F-350 has it. The Ford F-350 is standard with a 6.2-liter SOCH two-valve Flex Fuel V8 engine and TorqShift heavy-duty six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission on all trims although a 6.7-liter V8 Turbo Diesel engine is an available option on the F-350. All F-350 models come with the option of either a six foot or eight foot bed. The F-350 is standard with engine-only traction control. This system uses the engine to limit wheel spin by reducing throttle output. The King Ranch model of the F-350 comes standard with six-inch angular lighted step bars, to allow for easy cab access. The XL and XLT models come with the option of six-inch angular black molded-in color step bars. The XLT or Lariat models come with the option of five-inch chrome tubular step bars.
An available option for the XLT and Lariat models is Driver’s Group. This includes steering wheel controls and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. A Reverse Vehicle Aid Sensor system is standard on Lariat and King Ranch models and is an available option for the XLT model. This sensor detects object the driver can’t see and alerts the driver with a signal inside the cab. A Rear View Camera is available as an option on the XLT, Lariat and King Ranch models to add to the Reverse Vehicle Aid Sensor system.
The Ford F-450 offers the ultimate in power and capability. The only cab style available in the F-450 is the five-seater Crew Cab. Each model comes standard with an eight foot bed and there is no option for a six foot one. The standard engine on the F-450 is the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel engine with the TorqShift Heavy-Duty six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. A trailer tow package comes standard on all F-450 models as well; this package includes 7/4 pin connector, 4.30LS rear axle and 33,000 pound GCW. The dual tires on the back of this truck make it top of the line in towing power. The 2011 F-450 also comes standard with a mono-beam wide track front suspension with extended axle.
The Ford F-450 comes standard with roof clearance lights and tailgate assist and quick release. A tailgate step with handle is available as an option so the payload in the bed is easily accessible. The Tough Bed spray-in bedliner is also available; this provides added durability to help protect the bed. A chrome package is available on F-450 XLT or Lariat. This package includes chrome exhaust tip, chrome tow hooks, and unique chrome mirror caps, chrome pickup bed tie-down hooks; chrome step bars and 17” forged polished aluminum wheels. This package adds a little style to this powerful truck.
