Have a Question?

Driving in winter comes with a lot of challenges, especially if you live in a place that gets tons of snow and ice. SUVs with four- and all-wheel drive do best in winter, though there are plenty of smaller cars that do a good job as well.

The Subaru Outback is consistently rated one of the best vehicles for driving in snow, thanks to its standard all-wheel drive system and good safety ratings. Besides the Outback and the Hyundai Genesis, US News and World Report chose a number of luxury sedans for its best winter cars list, including the Cadillac CTS, the Mercedes Benz C-Class, and the Buick LaCrosse. All these vehicles have powerful engines that provide lots of
horsepower and nimble handling, making them comfortable to drive in snow.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee, Range Rover, and Subaru XV Crosstrek were Property Casualty 360’s top three snow vehicles, with a variety of trucks, wagons, and sedans also making the list, including the award-winning Honda Civic, which is also a frequent winner of KBB’s Overall Best Buy Award.
